After defeating Borussia Dortmund 4–1 in the second leg to overturn a 2–0 deficit, Atalanta advanced to the Round of 16, where they will face another German club, Bayern Munich. Bayern have been in outstanding form this season and, much like Barcelona, have been playing highly fluid and effective attacking football. The German giants will be aiming to continue their flawless run in the Champions League.
In what can be considered a relatively manageable matchup for Bayern, the Italian side face a difficult challenge. Atalanta will be without Giorgio Scalvini, Éderson, Charles De Ketelaere, and Giacomo Raspadori for this encounter. Bayern, meanwhile, have only one notable absence: Manuel Neuer. However, Jonas Urbig is expected to step in and will be eager to prove himself by filling the gap left by the experienced goalkeeper.
Atalanta are likely to approach the game with an open and attacking style in search of goals. Bayern, on the other hand, will look to exploit the spaces left by their opponents and may try to secure a decisive advantage already in the first leg.

Atlético de Madrid vs Tottenham Hotspur
Match Analysis
Tottenham, who are going through what can only be described as a disastrous period in the Premier League and currently sit just one point above the relegation zone, travel to the Metropolitano for the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16. Things are far from ideal for the English side, who are also dealing with several important absences in their squad. The recent managerial change has also become a subject of criticism, with many suggesting that the appointment of Igor Tudor has brought more problems than solutions.
While those criticisms may carry some weight, Tottenham’s injury crisis is extremely severe and the squad is heavily depleted. Under such circumstances, any manager would likely struggle. With Tottenham in this state of chaos, Diego Simeone will likely be looking to secure a strong advantage already in the first leg. A convincing victory here would significantly ease Atlético’s task ahead of the return leg.
However, Tottenham have often shown the ability to perform differently in major European matches and can still be dangerous opponents. For that reason, rather than backing Atlético simply to win, focusing on the home side scoring goals appears to be the safer and more logical option.

In the second leg of the Copa Libertadores third round, Brazilian side Botafogo host Ecuadorian club Barcelona SC. Away matches in the Copa Libertadores are traditionally very difficult, so the 1–1 draw in the first leg can be considered a favorable result for Botafogo.
Although Barcelona SC gained an important morale boost with a 1–0 victory against their historic rivals CS Emelec in the league, there remains a noticeable gap in squad quality between the two teams.

Match Analysis
Los Angeles FC and Costa Rican side LD Alajuelense face each other in the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup Round of 16. Although Alajuelense ended their poor run by winning their last two league matches in the Primera División Clausura and climbed slightly up the table, they have not fully delivered the expected level of performance this season.
LAFC, on the other hand, have started the Major League Soccer season very strongly, winning all three of their league matches so far and building impressive momentum. Considering both the difference in squad quality and the current form of the two sides, LAFC clearly enter this match as the favorites.
In this first-leg encounter, the American side will likely aim to secure a comfortable advantage and potentially settle the tie early. With LAFC expected to play attacking football and create numerous chances, a match where the home team scores at least two goals seems highly plausible.

In the second leg of the AFC Champions League Elite Round of 16, Sanfrecce Hiroshima host Johor Darul Ta’zim at Edion Peace Wing Hiroshima in what promises to be an entertaining encounter. Johor DT carry a strong advantage after winning the first leg 3–1.
Sanfrecce Hiroshima received a red card in the first match and suffered a difficult defeat. In the second leg, the Japanese side must win by at least three goals to progress, which means they are likely to start the match with an aggressive and attack-oriented approach, even if that leaves spaces at the back.
Johor DT, one of Malaysia’s strongest teams and a consistent title contender, will likely begin the match with a more cautious defensive setup. However, they will try to exploit the spaces left by Sanfrecce Hiroshima and create scoring opportunities through counterattacks.
