Manchester United have built very strong form under Michael Carrick, creating a positive atmosphere around the team. After three important victories, they now face another critical fixture as they host Tottenham. Although United will approach this match with a must-win mindset, as mentioned previously in the Tottenham vs Manchester City analysis, Tottenham are not a team you want to face when they are in a period where they desperately need points.
In addition, Manchester United have not fully resolved their defensive issues. Conceding two goals against Fulham showed that some problems still persist at the back. Therefore, rather than backing Manchester United outright in this match, opting for a goals-based selection appears to be the wiser choice. A high-scoring and entertaining game is expected.

Match Analysis
Chelsea have picked up positive momentum in the league with a three-match winning streak and now travel to face Wolves, a weak side widely expected to be relegated. Their remarkable 3–2 comeback against West Ham United last week, after falling 2–0 behind, has further boosted the positive atmosphere around the team.
For the hosts, Wolves, hopes have begun to fade as they continue to struggle for positive results amid poor form. As a result, they are not expected to be fully motivated for this match. Chelsea should secure all three points without too much difficulty.

This can present opportunities for strikers who thrive in big matches, such as Vedat Muriqi. For this reason, rather than opting for a handicap result, focusing on Barcelona scoring multiple goals may be a safer approach to avoid potential surprises.

FC Nantes vs Olympique Lyon

Lyon continue their excellent form after also defeating LOSC Lille and now travel to face Nantes, who are fighting to avoid relegation. Things are not going well for the home side. Although Nantes pulled off a surprise win against Olympique Marseille on January 4, they have lost every league match since then. This three-match losing streak has put them at risk of dropping even below 16th place, the relegation playoff position.
Despite the expectation that Nantes will approach this match with a must-win mentality, Lyon’s strong form should allow them to identify and exploit Nantes’ weaknesses to get the result. Moreover, the pressure on Nantes to pick up points is likely to force them into a more aggressive approach, which could open up spaces and allow Lyon to create clear scoring chances.

Çaykur Rizespor vs Galatasaray
Match Analysis
Rizespor, usually a mid-table side in the Turkish league, are having a highly inconsistent season this year and find themselves uncomfortably close to the relegation zone. They now face Galatasaray, who possess squad quality well above league standards and are considered the clear favorites for the championship.
After the surprise draw against Gaziantep FK, the Istanbul side responded by winning their next two league matches, starting a new winning streak. In order not to give renewed hope to their arch-rivals Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray will approach this match with an absolute must-win mentality.

Bayern Munich vs TSG 1899 Hoffenheim
Match Analysis
After the defeat against FC Augsburg, Bayern shocked many by drawing with Hamburger SV, entering a downturn that should be taken seriously. Failing to secure a comfortable win and leaving Hamburg with just one point suggests things are not going well. In the latter stages of that match, Bayern’s increasingly rushed build-up play signaled clear warning signs. Vincent Kompany also appeared overly involved at times, frequently issuing instructions from the touchline. We believe that during these moments, some Bayern players looked overwhelmed, and the team became more prone to mistakes. (Important: All observations regarding Vincent Kompany’s touchline involvement and frequent instructions are subjective interpretations; we do not claim these points as definitive facts.)
Bayern’s corner routines were also ineffective. Despite appearing to be rehearsed set pieces, they repeatedly ended with the Hamburg goalkeeper easily clearing the danger, producing no real threat. In addition, in the latter stages of the match, Michael Olise ruined several Bayern attacks with individual mistakes, showing that he was unable to sustain his good performance throughout the entire game and that he also has an inconsistent and risky side to his play. Personally, if I were Vincent Kompany, I would have substituted Olise late in the match. To compound these issues, Manuel Neuer has also been sidelined by injury. One of the world’s best goalkeepers will miss the Hoffenheim match.
Hoffenheim, meanwhile, are in outstanding league form and playing very good football. They will face a Bayern side that appears far more fragile than imaginable. The blue-and-whites are full of confidence and motivation and will be eager to exploit Bayern’s current struggles. Neuer’s absence will undoubtedly further whet the appetite of Hoffenheim’s forwards.
Despite all this, Bayern will still take the field as clear favorites at the Allianz Arena. However, considering the accumulation of negative factors and Hoffenheim’s excellent form, backing Bayern outright would be extremely risky. For this reason, opting for Hoffenheim to score appears to be the most sensible choice.

Paris Saint-Germain vs Olympique Marseille
Match Analysis
After enjoying a dream cup campaign last season, PSG have not been delivering the level of performance expected from them this year. Inconsistency within matches has often allowed opponents to slow the game down and come away with points. This creates a perfect opportunity for a tough side like Marseille, who will be eager to cause an upset in a fixture of this magnitude and frustrate PSG.
Therefore, while PSG are the clear favorites on paper, backing them directly in what is likely to be a very demanding match could prove painful. There is little need to explain how much a seasoned striker like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang thrives in these types of big games. As with the approach taken in the Bayern Munich vs TSG 1899 Hoffenheim matchup, opting for Marseille to score rather than siding with PSG appears to be the more sensible choice here.

Juventus FC vs SS Lazio
Match Analysis
After the humiliating defeat away to Cagliari Calcio, Juventus bounced back by securing two high-scoring consecutive wins and have regained strong form. Luciano Spalletti’s side are now playing with cohesion and desire, and they will approach the Lazio match with a clear must-win mentality. Spalletti chose to rest Kenan Yıldız in the midweek cup fixture and is expected to use him as a key weapon in the pursuit of victory against Lazio.
Lazio, who are more of a mid-table side in the league, lack both the resilience and the squad quality to withstand such difficult away fixtures. Moreover, Juventus have won the last five meetings between the two teams played at the Allianz Stadium. For these reasons, Juventus are expected to overcome the Lazio challenge comfortably at home, with a well-rested Kenan Yıldız playing a decisive role.

Valencia CF vs Real Madrid
Match Analysis
Real Madrid struggled heavily against Rayo Vallecano and only secured the win thanks to a late penalty, narrowly avoiding becoming the center of serious controversy once again. However, there is an important detail that many tend to overlook. Rayo Vallecano have always been an awkward opponent for Real Madrid, even during periods when Madrid were at their strongest. For instance, before the match on February 1, Los Blancos had won only four of their previous ten meetings. In that sense, it was actually quite natural for Real Madrid to struggle, and managing to take all three points from such a fixture was still a positive outcome.
That context may not matter to many, but it makes the upcoming Valencia match extremely important for Álvaro Arbeloa and several players under scrutiny. Any points dropped in this game could effectively mark the end of Arbeloa’s tenure and potentially the Real Madrid careers of some controversial squad members. Valencia, on the other hand, bear little resemblance to their former glory days and are one of the teams fighting relegation. The absence of Julen Agirrezabala, who has been sidelined for a long time due to an injury sustained against Celta de Vigo, is also likely to be felt in this crucial match.
Considering that any further points dropped would turn Real Madrid back into a boiling cauldron of criticism and could seal the fate of Arbeloa and others, Madrid will take the field with an absolute determination to win. Valencia, meanwhile, must chase points to move away from the relegation zone, which will likely force them to play openly against a star-studded Real Madrid side. For that reason, there appears to be little hope for the hosts. Even if Real Madrid show moments of struggle, they are expected to return to Madrid with all three points.
